Colorful Duck at Allens Landing DT Houston by Bill and Mavis Townsley

Today’s featured art is Colorful Duck at Allens Landing DT Houston by Bill and Mavis Townsley

I saw one of these ducks in the parking lot at a local Walgreens here in Houston last week. It was ..

… completely unafraid so I am guessing it sees a lot of people at the tiny local neighborhood lake where I see a flock of them as I drive past to & from work. It had a tiny beady eye but it did not seem … beady per se … it had eye expression which surprised me.

It definitely looked me square in the eye … and waddled around following me … then it sat down behind my car to work on it’s feathers. I got back out of the car and shooed it away … running over one of the ducks was not something I wanted to do.

I had never seen one so close and of course I didn’t have my camera with me … I never do when life hands me a moment like that … but I found a lovely gallery by local photographers, Bill and Mavis Townsley, who just happened to have one :) … so I get to write about seeing the duck and showing you their great photo of one.

The lighting is great and the detail of the duck is marvelous. The colors are true and rich as well.

Brand New Car Blues

No I do not really have the blues … but I did buy a brand new Honda Civic 2 door Coupe in a really pretty blue color last week … I will get the blues when I start making the payments :) … I had my car half paid off … and now I am starting all over again … oh well … the new one is a lot more comfy than my old one .. the seats have more support …. and I LOVE the radio controls in the steering wheel! It is also much more sporty looking too … though being a grandma … it has nice clean lines as my daughter said.

I bought it from Honda Cars of Katy which is about 2 blocks from where I live.

If I had an MP3 player, I could use it in my new car … I have CD’s of music … in fact, I bought a new CD of music for my new car … by the Supremes … I used to have their albums … back when music meant vinyl records in cardboard covers. And I grabbed my George Jones Cd this morning .. I need to find some of my Gary Allan, George Strait and Ronnie Milsap too to take with me for to and from work.

This car is full of electronics! The speedometer is completely a digital display … big enough I could see it even without my glasses … I have no idea how many computers run everything but I at a guess … there are a lot … I wonder if anything in our cars today is … mechanical … any more?
