We are preparing for Hurricane Ike :) ... it is expected to only get to be a Category 3 now but it is not traveling very fast yet ... the tropical storm winds & possibly isolated tornadoes are expected to start here tomorrow [Friday] morning .... they think anywhere from 60 mph and up Friday and hurricane wind speeds on Saturday and probably Sunday too. I live in Katy - I'm NOT in the storm surge area - that means I am not in a coastal area - so I do not need to evacuate. We expect lots of wind, maybe isolated tornadoes ... we may get some flooding depending on the rain and how fast it comes down ... it's been dry so the bayous are expected to be able to handle the water coming down.

I had too much time to think about it and came to the conclusion that I didn't really want to buy the other house at all ... the back yard was too small for Miss Sugar Plum for one thing .. and it was too far north of where I live now which translates into being too far away from my grandson ... LOL ... so I took back my offer - nope never did get an answer back on the other one - so we looked at more and I found one that I did decide I want - my grandson liked the one with graffiti in the upstairs bedroom ... I did not though it had a cute little front porch area ... but being honest ... I would probably never hardly ever use a front porch area ... and it had an upstairs which is not something I really want to be traipsing up and down the stairs ... I do not really need a game room upstairs ... a living room to put the TV and Playstation is all the game room I need.

The subdivision does not have a swimming pool but that is okay too ... my daughter and son-in-law have a pool in their backyard and if I were going to swim ... it would be at

My daughter, the Texas Realtor (who passed her test with flying colors the very first time she took the test - yes I AM VERY PROUD of her), has not gotten an answer yet from the bank on the offer I made for a house a couple weeks ago. It is a short sale and the bank does not get in a hurry to process them and I just get to wait ... and wait ... and wait some more to find out if the offer is accepted or rejected. I can tell you that it gives you time to rethink whether you really want to do this or not ... it is not a quick process and it has certainly given me the time to get really frozen tootsies about whether to actually buy a house or not.

Part of me says it is a bad idea with the cost of

My grandson's birthday was May 9th ... for his birthday, I bought him a Kodak Easy Share digital camera at Walgreen's ... I wanted something good but easy for him ... he is 11 years old ... and he was taking great pictures with it ... it came in a blister pack, not a box - I did not buy him a dock ... his camera takes regular batteries and is only 8.X megapixel ... I don't know what model .. but it is a very nice camera ... my daughter liked it too ... and he took some marvelous pictures of a blue jay on the patio table through the door glass ... and he got some awesome pictures of his dogs too ... having fun with it is the entire idea.

I bought me a new Kodak too ... mine is for business though one cannot help but enjoy working with a camera ... or anyway I cannot - I've always loved taking pictures and digital is immediate gratification ... (my old Kodak DC4800 works ... but the LCD screen
