May is Kodak Digital Camera Month For Us

My grandson’s birthday was May 9th … for his birthday, I bought him a Kodak Easy Share digital camera at Walgreen’s … I wanted something good but easy for him … he is 11 years old … and he was taking great pictures with it … it came in a blister pack, not a box - I did not buy him a dock … his camera takes regular batteries and is only 8.X megapixel … I don’t know what model .. but it is a very nice camera … my daughter liked it too … and he took some marvelous pictures of a blue jay on the patio table through the door glass … and he got some awesome pictures of his dogs too … having fun with it is the entire idea.

I bought me a new Kodak too … mine is for business though one cannot help but enjoy working with a camera … or anyway I cannot - I’ve always loved taking pictures and digital is immediate gratification … (my old Kodak DC4800 works … but the LCD screen won’t stay on - I have been considering taking it to a camera shop and see if they can fix it … I have several lenses for it and it took great pictures of my oil paintings … even if it is only 3.X megapixels).

Anyway … my new camera is a Kodak Easy Share too … the V1273 … 12 megapixels … a touchscreen … very small and easy to operate … it has a lithium battery.

I need to transfer the pictures from the card to my computer … I’ve been taking pictures of things around a theme of … texture … I want to create my own library of textures for using with PhotoShop and Painter when I paint and make digital photo collages … and I need to be able to take pictures of my watercolors for my Imagekind Galleries … I have some to photograph … and I have some new watercolor paper in a great size for doing tall narrow tree paintings … the paper is 6″ x 18″ … it would be great for wide but narrow panoramic seascapes too I think … I plan to experiment with the new paper this week-end.

I had to pull my old Kodak out tonite so I could get the piece off it that goes to my tripod … I have a VERY nice tripod that I bought years ago when I bought the Kodak … I need to use it for photographing my artwork … I am not steady enough to hold the camera still while snapping pixs even with the new tiny camera … photographing art work is delicate work … and not the easiest thing I have ever done.
