My Grandson the Football Champion!

Today’s featured art is The Big Game on Halloween Night by Rob Peters

Last night was the football championship game for my grandson. He is 11 years old and at that age, boys tend to remind me a bit of werewolves … one minute sweet as he can be and the next biting my head off snarling … hormones already. This is the perfect illustration for this post :) very well done drawing and brings a big grin to my face … it is not just for Halloween in my mind.

This is the last year my grandson will play in this league … next year he has to try out for the jr high school football team … this is the third year he has played football in this league. Each year, he has been on a different team. This is the third time he has been in a championship game … twice before his team lost … this year … THEY WON!!!!

Hooray Lions! The coaches were excellent and encouraged team playing, team spirit and improving your skills. The team is now undefeated for the season.

Congratulations Lions!

Fog Makes Highway Driving an Eye Strain

The thick fog this morning here in the Katy to Sealy Texas corridor of I-10 felt like it took years to traverse … I could see maybe two cars lengths ahead while driving 65 mph … it made my eyes hurt terribly to be so focused on trying to peer ahead to know if anything was happening on the road ahead of me that I needed to be aware of while going so fast … most of the time, I think we must all be insane to be out driving that fast in that type of weather! :)

I think this must be the time of year for fog … I think I will start earlier to leave for work so I can slow down some … better to get there safely than to be sorry and not get there at all!
